We are a scout group from Pinelands Cape Town and have been around since 1923.

1st Pinelands Scout Group seeks leaders:
We are looking
for two people to take on the post of Troop Scouter and the post of Pack Scouter.
The group has been in operation for over 80 years, and has an excellent history of achievements in scouting activities. 1st Pinelands is growing in numbers,
and now finds itself in a position of urgently requiring adult leadership for the troop and pack. The troop (scouts aged 11 to 17 years) and the pack (cubs
aged 7 to 11 years) have in excess of 20 members each. The group has the excellent leadership of a Group Scouter, both the troop and the pack have
enthusiastic Assistant Scouters and there is an active parent committee.
The posts of Troop Scouter and Pack Scouter are both volunteer positions. The
ideal Troop or Pack Scouter would have leadership and organisational skills, enjoy working with youngsters and subscribe to the aims and standards of the
Scouting Movement. As the leader of the troop or pack, these roles will offer the opportunity to play an active and exciting part in developing the life
skills of the youth in our community. Personal leadership and organisational/planning skills will also be developed through the support of the
regular South African Scout Association training programs.

| October 2007, First Pinelands 80th Birthday! |
First Pinelands Scout Group is celebrating their 80th Anniversary at the scout hall on Saturday early in October.
There will be:
Scouting through the years, tree-planting, supper & camp fire
All-inclusive meal cost : R40 adults, R30 under 18s
Dress : Scout Uniform / Smart Casual

| The Weekend camp (that did not happen): |
Due to the rains coming and the threat we would not be able to accomplish as much as we had wanted, we all decided that it would be best if we took the time to instead do an overdue equipment stocktaking and reorganising. Yes, not very glorious I know, but very very needed. Hopefully we can replace all old, worn and broken equipment with new stuff that will last us as long as much of it has!
This whole week has seen us busy in the evenings sorting, cleaning and fixing the equipment. Great work guys! - 06 July '07
